Original Residents of Higgins
Higgins
is fortunate to retain some grand old remnant eucalypts, some of which
could be more than 200 years old. So far we've only seen Blakely's Red
Gums (smooth limbed) and Yellow Box (shaggy trunked), but there could
be other species around too. They provide fantastic hollows for birds
and possums, but quite a lot of them are in decline. Here are a few
shots of some of the good ones about Higgins.
